The Chief.

Tim Eggebraaten spent nearly 25 years serving the Detroit Lakes, MN, Police Department in various roles, including DARE Instructor, Patrol Sergeant, Investigative Sergeant, K-9 Handler, and ultimately Chief of Police from 2011 to 2016. Before his law enforcement career, he worked as a correctional officer in Clay County, MN.

Throughout his career, Tim experienced the immense highs and profound challenges that come with a life of service. As Chief of Police, he saw firsthand the toll high-stress careers can take on individuals, teams, and families. Like many in demanding professions, he searched for ways to maintain balance—physically, mentally, and emotionally.

For five of the last six years (2020, 2021, 2022, 2023, 2025), Tim was voted “Best Local Live Music (Band or Solo Artist)” in the Detroit Lakes area.

Having performed hundreds of shows, the Off Duty Chief now combines his powerful message with his talent for engaging audiences of all ages and demographics, resulting in life lessons that will stay in your mind like your favorite song.

When Tim is off the grid from speaking and entertaining, he and his wife, Denise, live in the northern Minnesota lake community of Detroit Lakes.
